This time, I will share my experience staying at the Moxy Kyoto Nijo in March 2024. Moxy Kyoto is a unique and stylish hotel that is easily accessible from Nijo Station in Kyoto City.
About access to Moxy Kyoto Nijo Hotel
Moxy Kyoto is about a 6-minute ride from Kyoto Station on the JR Sanyo Main Line or subway to Nijo Station. From the station, it is about a 3-minute walk. It is a 15-minute taxi ride from Kyoto Station.
It is conveniently located near the bus stops “Nijo Station” and “Senbon Sanjo/Suzaku Ritsumeikan-mae” with many buses running. There are buses going to Shijo Kawaramachi and Shijo Omiya. You can also walk to Shijo Omiya Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line.

The front desk is located immediately inside the entrance. The grade of the room depends on the floor. This time, the hotel was fully booked and there were no upgrades available. Guests are served a welcome drink.

Currently, Moxy Kyoto does not offer free breakfast benefits, even for Platinum members.
You can use a 1,200 yen food and drink voucher to cover the 2,000 yen breakfast cost, but you will need to pay the difference of 800 yen.
About welcome drink
All guests will receive a welcome drink ticket. This can be used for both alcoholic and soft drinks. Cocktails are also available.
About the Room
Basically, the rank of the room is determined by the floor. The specifications vary slightly depending on the location. In Moxy, there is only a shower. There is also a refrigerator.
At LOBBY BAR
I had a drink at the lobby bar. French fries were 600 yen. I got a $10 (1200 yen) coupon for the welcome gift.
About breakfast
Breakfast is served from 6:30 to 10:00
Price: 2,000 yen
Those with Platinum status or above who received a ticket for 1,200 yen for food and drink can eat breakfast for the difference of 800 yen. This time, I had breakfast because I had booked a plan that included breakfast.
About the hotel facilities
24/7 Fitness Center
The fitness center is located on the basement floor and is open 24 hours a day. There are a limited number of machines, and it seems compact. A water server and towels are provided.
Coin laundry
The coin laundry is located on the basement floor. Detergent is automatically added.
