Kobe Bay Sheraton & Towers Hotel Review (Club Lounge Use) January 2025

This time, I would like to tell you about what it was like when I stayed at the Kobe Bay Sheraton & Towers, which is directly connected to the station, in January 2025.

About access to Kobe Bay Sheraton & Towers

The location is a little way from Kobe towards Osaka.

It is located on an artificial island called Rokko Island.

• Nearest station: Rokko Liner Island Center Station [East Exit], approx. 2 minutes walk

If you come by train, you will need to use the Rokko Liner. You can get on the Rokko Liner from JR Sumiyoshi Station or Hanshin Uozaki Station. It is convenient as it runs about every 5 minutes. From Island Center Station, it is directly connected to the station, so you won’t get wet in the rain.

Access from Kansai International Airport

You can take the airport limousine bus, but there are only a few departures per day.

Take the airport limousine bus to Kobe-Sannomiya, then take the JR line to Sumiyoshi Station, and from there board the Rokko Liner.

Access from Kobe Airport

There is also an airport limousine bus, but it runs infrequently. The bus goes to Universal Studios Japan via the Kobe Bay Sheraton Hotel.

In addition to the bus, you can take the Port Liner (train) to Sannomiya, then take the JR line to Sumiyoshi Station, and from there take the Rokko Liner.

Access from Osaka Itami Airport

There is an airport limousine bus bound for Sannomiya twice an hour.

From Sannomiya, take the JR line to Sumiyoshi Station and then board the Rokko Liner.

Access from Shin-Kobe Station (Shinkansen)

Take the subway from Shin-Kobe Station to Sannomiya Station.

From Sannomiya, take the JR line to Sumiyoshi Station and then board the Rokko Liner.

About access from Osaka Station/Shin-Osaka Station (Shinkansen)

Take the JR line to Sumiyoshi Station and then board the Rokko Liner.

Check in at Kobe Bay Sheraton & Towers

All check-in is done on the second floor. There is no service at the club lounge. There is a check-in area for club lounge users next to the front desk on the second floor. This time, it was not available.

Check-in begins at 3pm.

Reservation status and upgrades

This time, I booked a deluxe twin room, but I was upgraded to a deluxe twin room on the spa floor.

The room is on a lower floor, but there is an elevator that goes directly to the hot spring floor.

About Marriott Bonvoy Suite Night Awards

Kobe Bay Sheraton & Towers was not listed as an eligible hotel for the Suite Night Award.

Generally, breakfast is served in the club lounge. However, this time, breakfast was served in the restaurant. Therefore, the welcome gift automatically became points.

Room details: Deluxe twin room on the spa floor

The room specifications are the same as the deluxe rooms on other floors. The difference is that since it is on the spa floor, you can take a direct elevator to the hot spring floor, so the hotel’s indoor wear and slippers are provided on the bed.

This is a minibar.

The bathroom has a bathtub and shower booth.

Private hot spring: Kobe Rokko Onsen “HAMAIZUMI”

In Japan, they say that if you dig, hot springs will come out. The hotel has its own hot spring source. It seems they dug 1600 meters deep.

The general public can use it for 2,800 yen. Marriott Bonvoy members and those who live nearby can use it for a day trip for 2,000 yen.

Please note: Boys and girls over the age of 6 (elementary school students) are not allowed to enter together.

This time, we are on a floor with an elevator that goes directly to the hot springs.

Towels are provided. Guests can use the hot springs from 5:30AM to midnight. Cleaning hours are from 10:30AM to 12:30PM. However, on Tuesdays, cleaning hours are from 9:30AM to 4:30PM.

There is also a space called the Spa Living which is only available to those using the direct elevator.

Cocktail time (twilight time) at the club lounge

The club lounge is located on the 19th floor. Cocktail time (twilight time) is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. After that, alcohol is served as an evening service, with a limited selection including whiskey and wine.

The food is served on a plate.

Other than that, there are also mixed nuts and cookies.

The drinks are good, with a beer server and sparkling wine, but the food selection is limited.

Evening service starts at 8pm. The only difference is the variety of drinks.

Breakfast at a general restaurant

Breakfast was not provided in the club lounge, so we had it at the regular restaurant.

The food featured local ingredients.

In the egg dish section, there was also an Akashiyaki-style omelet.

Desserts are also available.

The menu changes slightly depending on the day.

About the area around Kobe Bay Sheraton & Towers

Kobe Bay Sheraton & Towers is located on the artificial island of Rokko Island. It is located in the center of the island, so there is a supermarket on the opposite side of the station, and a convenience store and cafe just outside the hotel front desk.

There are Japanese and Italian restaurants in the commercial area. There is also a McDonald’s on the first floor of the station.

About the facilities within Kobe Bay Sheraton & Towers

The main dining area is on the first floor. There are several other restaurants. Room service is available, but American breakfast is served from 7:00 to 11:00 in the morning. Course meals and a la carte are available from 17:00 to 20:30.
